Uneven, sandy and unpaved forest roads pose significant logistical challenges during tree harvesting. Trucks often have problems with their wheels getting stuck in sand and mud, which slows down and makes it difficult to haul timber.
In this situation, the use of road plates for temporary paving proved to be an excellent solution. The plates were laid without the use of heavy, specialised equipment, allowing for very fast installation. The plates are made from recycled plastic – one board weighs 37 kg.
The access road and the yard for storing wood were paved. The optimum road width was achieved by alternating the installation of the plates. Once the work is complete, the temporary pavement can be easily dismantled and placed elsewhere. As a result, ROAD SYSTEM boards have proven to be an economical and convenient solution.
